What is a RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. So, with The Equine Trader you can get the latest horses and ponies for sale, as soon as its published. You get receive the feeds sent to your home computer, mobile or even iPhone.

How do I start receiving feeds?

1. If you do not already have a news reader, you will need to download one. You can download a reader to your computer, iphone or other mobile device that allows for this type of media file. Here are just a few of your options:

Windows: Newz Crawler, FeedDemon, Awasu
Mac OS X: Newsfire, NetNewsWire
Web: Bloglines, FeedZilla, NewsGator
Browser: Mozilla Firefox

(The Equine Trader is not responsible for the content of external internet sites).

2. Once you have chosen a news reader and downloaded it to your chosen device, all you need to do is decide which content from our website you would like to receive. Currently, we have a RSS feed for new horses for sale and another for horses available on loan (see top of this page).

3. Once you have decided which feeds you would like to be a part of, click on the feed that you are interested in, then copy the URL address in the browser box i.e. feed://theequinetrader.com/rssfeed/newhorserss.xml

4. Then, open your reader and do one of the following:

  • Click on File, Add New Feed, paste the URL in full i.e., feed://theequinetrader.com/rssfeed/newhorserss.xml. Your reader may give you the opportunity to add other information, such as a category name, or group name, these are optional.

  • Alternatively, click on the RSS link at the top of this page, if you see a URL link at the top of the page i.e., (feed://theequinetrader.com/rssfeed/newhorserss.xml, drag the URL address into your news reader or copy and paste the URL into a new feed in your news reader.

4. That's it. You should be ready to receive any new horse adverts that are added to our site.
